The morning worship guide was born out of desire to provide our children with a daily Bible reading plan. We eventually added a weekly hymn and prayer and made the guide available to our whole church family. While we print quarterly guides for our children and church family, I’ve created a streamlined version just for you! 

Morning Worship Guide description from my husband…

“Because the disciplines of prayer and meditating on God’s Word are ordinary means of grace to help us grow up into Christ, I developed a daily prayer guide to encourage and guide you in the practice of these disciplines.

 

Through the centuries, the church has taught the principle, the law of prayer is the law of truth (Lex orandi lex credendi). (Prayer here means worship.) “The law of prayer is the law of truth” recognizes that if Christian understanding and beliefs are not embodied in prayers, our prayers cannot teach us how to think, act, or believe as Christians. The place of prayer within Christianity is sufficiently foundational that it is not possible to reflect on Christianity’s moral and intellectual teachings without an account of how we worship. Founded upon Scripture alone, how we pray expresses what we believe, which marries theology and liturgy. What follows in the daily liturgy is a guide for prayer (Psalms) and Scripture reading (Acts). The prayer portion is intended for the morning; the daily Scripture can be done anytime during the day.”
