The spring Bible & prayer guide is here! I’ve completed a bit of a redesign for those who desire a compact bookmark for their bible. You will have to visit our church if you want a copy of the expanded version but you can download the bookmark version below!

First, an overview of the scriptures selected by my husband for this spring:

EXPLANATION OF THE PSALM READINGS
My selection of the Psalm readings follows a pattern. I reserve Sundays for
Psalms that address worship. In some way, these Psalms call us to worship
and declare the majesty of the LORD. I selected Psalms pertaining to the
Law of God on Wednesdays. After you read through Psalm 119, you’ll read
other Psalms that speaks of God’s commandments. In remembrance of
Jesus’ crucifixion on a Friday, the readings for every Friday are a Psalm of
confession. I believe it is a helpful weekly pattern to remember the
crucifixion of the Lord. The Saturday following Jesus’ crucifixion was a day
of dashed hopes. In the same manner, the Psalms selected for Saturdays are
laments. Just as the resurrection followed the crucifixion, you’ll return to
Psalms that address God’s glory on Sunday, which is a weekly reminder of
Christ’s resurrection.

OVERVIEW OF READINGS THIS QUARTER
I selected the historical books of Joshua, Judges, and Ruth as the main
readings for this quarter. The books chronicle the leadership of Israel from
Joshua to the Judges, or the military leaders. While Ruth was not
traditionally placed in this order, it serves as a transition to the monarchy,
which is the subject of 1 and 2 Samuel.
